The Taylor Summer Festival is a Downriver summertime institution, regularly drawing tens of thousands of people to Heritage Park on the fourth weekend of June. The event runs from Thursday evening through Sunday evening. There are offerings for everyone in the family.
In 2016, Everclear and Sponge were the featured performers during the annual Friday night concert in the Sheridan Center Open Air Pavilion. In 2015, The Romantics rocked the festival, while the year before, it was Phil Vassar serving as the headliner.
The carnival/midway usually opens on Thursday and runs through Sunday.
Friday's feature is the annual concerts in the Sheridan Center.
Saturday's feature is the annual Masco Taylor Summer Festival Fireworks Display, held at approximately 10 p.m. after a full day of events and concerts.
A Taylor Color Fest Run was held for the first time in 2016, and was a huge hit.
