The farmer’s market is currently accepting vendors. While produce is especially of interest, the market welcomes inquires by any vendor. We would like nothing more than to fill the Heritage Park Open Air Pavilion with vendors and a variety of their wares. The market offers low seasonal rates, as well as weekly rates.

Getting ready for an all-new season!
The 2018 version of the Taylor Farmer’s Market, presented by Beaumont, will make its debut on Friday, June 1, and it will offer a new look and a stronger focus.
New hours, schedule and layout
New hours of business are 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., from June 1 through the end of August, putting its focus firmly on luncheon and mid-day operations. The market, however, will be closed on Friday, June 29, due to the summer festival.
A new market layout, yet to be finalized, will be centered on the main Sheridan Center Open Air Pavilion main entrance, and will be less spread out, as it has been in the past.
Produce, POP and EBT programs
Offering fresh produce remains the driving mission of the farmer’s market, and the produce tables will be located front and center facing the entrance, with the rest of the participating vendors and displays surrounding them. The market began participating in the “Power of Produce” program, which provides a fun opportunity for children to engage in the local food system through exposure to new fruits and vegetables. POP kids receive vouchers to spend at the market, allowing them to make their own shopping decisions – as long as they are choosing produce.
In addition, the market now accepts the Snap/Bridge Card/EBT program, and will continue to do so this season.
At the end of the 2017 market season, the market itself started offering its own limited produce table, which was very well-received by patrons. That concept will continue this season, and will be expanded. Market Manager Thom Ouellette will run table weekly, and will coordinate our offerings with other participating produce vendors in the market, with the focus on expanding variety for the customers. If possible, we will expand beyond produce to seasonal flowers and other areas, depending on the need and other participating vendors in that week’s market.
50th anniversary of the City of Taylor displays
To mark the City of Taylor’s 50th anniversary, the market will partner with the Taylor Historical Society to offer displays focusing on the community’s past five decades during each market this season.
History of the market
The market became a 501c3 charitable organization last year. It returned three years ago after being absent for three seasons. The new version was extremely successful, recording 14,323 visitors during its reopening season.
The market is the largest of its kind in the Downriver region. It is also the only market held under a roof - in the 41,000-square-foot Sheridan Center. The roof has prevented any rain outs in during the past three seasons. The center has ample parking directly in front of the building. Vendors have their own parking area on the north side of the building, adjacent to the loading door. Restrooms are available inside the center.
