The City of Taylor and SEMCOG, the Southeast Michigan Council of Governments, encourages you to share an important message about toilet paper (yes, toilet paper).
With schools shut down and businesses closed or offering limited services to prevent the spread of COVID-19, it is more important than ever that residents of Southeast Michigan take simple steps to help maintain functionality of private and public plumbing systems.
"Flushable wipes" create blockages in household pipes and municipal sewer systems and should never be flushed down the toilet, nor should facial tissue or paper towel. To ensure that each household has enough toilet paper and stores are able to maintain a steady supply, everyone is encouraged to buy only what they need.
This message is provided by the One Water partnership for Southeast Michigan, comprised of SEMCOG, the Freshwater Forum at the Cranbrook Institute of Science, the Great Lakes Water Authority, local governments, and water service providers, and stakeholders throughout Southeast Michigan.
