VIP Program:

 The VIP Program, a special activity program for individuals with disabilities, will be held June 21st  through July 29th.  The program runs Monday through Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and includes weekly field trips, crafts, sports and much more.

Held in the Activity Building in Heritage Park, the program has limited space available for ages 8-24.  Program fee is $150 per student.

Discounted tickets are on sale Memorial Day, through Labor Day at the Taylor Recreation Center.

Community Chorus:
 

Located off Van Born Road, between Inkster and Beech Daly roads, Northwest Pool features supervised open swimming from June through Labor Day (weather permitting). Pool hours are Noon to 8 p.m. daily.  The fee is $5 per Taylor resident; $6 for non-residents. Seasonal pool passes are available. Features at Northwest Pool include a zero-depth entry, which is great for small children, a bench inside the pool for seating and five water play features designed for children. The chorus meets at 7:30 p.m. Mondays at the Heritage Park Activity Building. The group welcomes area residents, from high school students through senior citizens. There are no auditions. Junior Golf Clinics:

Children ages 8 to 13 are encouraged to learn the fundamentals of golf at Lakes of Taylor Golf Club. Space is limited. Call (734) 287-2100 for more information.

Softball:

The four Taylor Little Leagues, which operate independently of the City of Taylor, have created a girls softball program within Taylor.

Taylor Sports & Recreation Hall of Fame:

The Hall of fame is located at the entrance of the Taylor Sportsplex, this recognizes individuals for their athletic achievements and/or contributions to Taylor organized sports and recreation.  Nominations are accepted in the Golf, Parks and Recreation office. 

 

Taylor Dance Program:

Classes offered at the Recreation Center include ballet, pointe and partnering; traditional jazz, theatre dance, hip-hop and world beat; tap and tap funk; Polynesian and Tahitian dance.  A Tiny Tot program is available for children two through four.
The regular dance season begins with classes held for September through May. Summer intensive workshops are held for four weeks, offering classes for the intermediate and advanced students only. Reasonable rates afford everyone the opportunity to Dance.

Tennis:

5 week session begins June 21, 2009. Mondays and Wednesday. $42.00 includes lessons by a certified instructor and a USA team tennis Tshirt. Registration begins May 3rd. Students are grouped according to age. Ages 10 and under 9-10 a.m., ages 11-14 10:15-11:15 a.m. and ages 15-18 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. For more information call (734) 374-3906.
