We provide transportation for Doctor visits: With a 24 hour notice, we take Taylor seniors to and from Taylor based medical appointments. This is a very important part of our transportation program. This service is provided 5 days a week, for $2 per appointment.

Field Trips: This is where the fun begins. Our trips are planned by 5-7 volunteers. Each specializing in different areas: Theatre, plays, the ever popular casino trip, restaurant roundup, shopping trips, quilting shows, just to name a few! You think of it, and we will try it!

Dial - A - Ride: Picks up Taylor seniors at their home and brings them to the center free of charge. See our Activites page to see all you can do once you get here! We also offer a different shopping trip each day: Meijer (Monday), Kroger (Tuesday), Walmart (Wednesday), and Kmart (Thursday), making stops along the way at pharmacies and banks, all of which are located in Taylor!

All of our activities take money, so we formed a fund-raising group called The Friends of the Ford Senior Center, which is a 501c3 organization. This allows us new ways raise funds for the center and opens many new doors for better discounts for our senior programs. If you would like to become a member of this organization, please stop by the center and join. The fee is $12 per year, or $100 for a lifetime membership.

To share all the news and activities with our senior community, we put out a monthly newsletter. For $5.00 a year, we will mail one to your home, or you may pick up one for free.

Friends of the Ford Senior Center Gift Card Program

The Friends of the Ford Senior Center are selling Gift Cards as a fundraiser.  The Gift Cards are issued by local retailers where many of you already shop.  The local retailers give back a percentage of the Gift Card purchases to the Friends of the Ford Senior Center to be used on programs at the Senior Center.   If you are interested in purchasing Gift cards, please call 313-291-7740.  Click on the link below for the order form.

Senior Gold Activity Card

Taylor senior citizens can enjoy recreation activities at discounted rates during the year. At $30, the Senior Golf Activity Card is a great gift idea for the holidays or any time of year. The card is on sale now at the Taylor Recreation Center, 22805 Goddard Road. For more information, call the Parks and Recreation Department at 734-374-3906.

Hall and Pavilion Rentals

The Ford Senior Center offers both hall and pavilion rental. With a full working kitchen, the banquet hall affords many possibilities for catered affairs. For a more casual gathering, the outdoor pavilion provides shelter, lighting, and a sound system in an open air setting overlooking the beautiful grounds. Ask about special rates for seniors and Taylor residents. For more details on hall and pavilion rentals, call Cindy Grell at 734-287-1655.
