SUPERIOR PARKWAY construction to begin, last eight weeks
Superior Parkway located between Telegraph and Pardee will be under construction as early as sometime this Fourth of July week and is expected to span approximately eight weeks, depending on the weather. Traffic will be limited to only westbound traffic.
Residents and businesses located along this section of Superior or who use this road may see traffic control devices installed as early as July 8.
The road will be constructed in two phases. Traffic Control is being set up so that Superior located between Telegraph and Pardee will be open to westbound only traffic for the entire project.
Vehicles will be able to travel westbound on the north half while the south half is being replaced. Once the south half is completed vehicles will be able to travel westbound on the new south half of the road while the north half is being replaced.
The contractor will start with the south half of Superior. Once the south half is completed and traffic is shifted, the contractor will begin the north half. Once both the south and north halves of the road have been completely replaced the traffic control devices will be removed or pulled to the edge of the road.
At that time vehicles will then be able to resume using Superior as they did before construction.
Construction will take place between 7-7 Mondays through Saturdays.
In an effort to expedite the construction of the road and minimize the disturbance to the area, the City of Taylor will be closing all entrances/exits located on Superior (Taylor Sportsplex, Kennedy School, Timberline Meadows Condominiums and the new Kudos Facility). All of these entrances/exits will be barricaded off and no traffic will be permitted in or out.
All entrances/exits located on the south half of Superior will be closed during the construction of the south half. All entrances/exits located on the north half of Superior will be closed during the construction of the north half.
Any vehicles that illegally use the Superior entrances/exits located between Telegraph and Pardee during construction when barricades are in place will only delay the project and compromise the new concrete road.
The City of Taylor is aware that new road construction includes inconveniences, noise and dust, and appreciates your patience and understanding during the improvement project.
