COVID-19 UPDATE: New lending program, school tracking and local hospital care data highlighted

COVID-19

Huntington Bancshares Inc. and Governor Whitmer announced a $5 billion, five-year lending, investment and philanthropic commitment to help improve financial opportunities for Michigan businesses, consumers and communities. That and more in today’s Wayne County Report for September 3, 2020.

Also, Michigan families will know if there are COVID-19 outbreaks at their K-12 schools beginning Sept. 14 — the first full week of school following Labor Day. The list will include not only the name and location of the K-12 school, but also the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases at that school.

According to the daily countywide COVID-19 data report for September 2, 2020, Taylor had only two new cases, upping its total to 974. There was one new death, upping that count to 76.

In addition, below is the COVID trend for Beaumont Health, through 9-01-2020. This data reflects the clinically appropriate count of the COVID patients being treated in our health system. The blue line is the average daily census for all patients in COVID isolation.
