DTE to relocate 1,200 natural gas meters outside of Taylor homes this year

dte logo

This year, DTE Energy crews will be scheduling appointments with homeowners in Taylor to relocate natural gas meters to the outside of their homes. DTE plans on relocating about 1,200 of these meters this year.

DTE representatives will soon be in Taylor neighborhoods, knocking on doors to make appointments for this work. If no one is home, information will be left so that you can call and schedule.

Moving the meters outside of homes reduces the need for workers to access the inside of your home in the future for maintenance, readings or safety inspections.

The relocation of the meters is free. It is required by the State of Michigan. It will take two to three hours to complete, during which your gas service will be interrupted and someone 18 or older will must be present while the crews do their work.

If you have questions or seek more information, call (313) 294-3445.
