Santa's Magic Forest looks for helpers

santas magic forest

The volunteer group that creates Santa’s Magic Forest is seeking helpers. If you take up the challenge, you can consider yourself one of Santa’s elves.

Construction of the display begins from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, October 5, at the Heritage Park Activities Building, located almost directly behind the library. They will be working at the same time each Saturday through November 23. You can work the whole time period or just some of it.

Anyone can help. This is a great opportunity for students who are seeking “community hours.” Just clear it with your teacher/supervisor, and bring along the form.

The annual tradition opens during the 2019 Taylor Winterfest on Nov. 30 and runs through Christmas. Advertised as “Downriver’s finest holiday display” it welcomes visitors Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays through December 23.

Hours are 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. on November 30 and then 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Fridays, 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturdays and 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sundays. General admission is only $3 per person. Children 3 and younger are admitted free. Photos with Santa Claus for $8.
