George will share the history of his family immigrating to the Detroit area from Germany; his family being held at a detention center during WWII; his growing up downriver in Wyandotte; his moving to Taylor; and his participation in the establishment of the ”historic district” at Heritage Park.
Learn the basics of quilt making from start to finish. You will learn traditional and modern techniques while having fun putting together sample squares. All sessions will include demonstration and hands on.

Noted historian George Gouth will share the history of his family immigrating from Germany to the United States. Included will be chapters on his family being held in a detention center in World War II; growing up in Wyandotte; moving to Taylor; and his participation in the establishment of a historical district around Coan Lake in Heritage Park.

Learn the basics of copper foil method. You will learn how to use the tools of the trade and how to select the right glass for your project. Instruction in the basics of creating wonderful objects from stained glass. Students are responsible for cost of materials for any projects and can be purchased from the instructor.

Bring a thick mat, wear loose clothes and don't eat two hours prior to class.
